Mike defended a rushed, lop-sided Live Nation/Ticketmaster deal that would have come at the
serious cost of Irvine families' quality of life.
Irvine residents have suffered the noise and traffic of Ticketmaster’s 12,000-seat temporary
amphitheater for years. Then Mike Carroll pushed a deal to build a 14,000-seat amphitheater
with the people of Irvine paying the tab and multi-billion-dollar corporation Ticketmaster
keeping most of the profits! Carrol has supported Ticketmaster and lobbyist Patrick Strader
every step of the way.

Carroll used his power as Chairman of the Great Park Board to call for a Special Meeting at 1:55
p.m., just 5 minutes before the already scheduled 2 p.m. Great Park Board meeting.
Why would he call a special meeting? So he can evade the seven-day notice requirement for
City Council meetings and jam the one-sided deal through on three days' notice! Carrol has
again proved that we can’t trust him to act on behalf of Irvine residents.

Mike Carroll: Denying women's rights
Mike voted against a resolution opposing the overturning of Roe v. Wade and supporting
reproductive freedoms.
He doesn’t support people making decisions about their bodies and health, instead choosing to ally himself with those who force rape victims to carry their rapists’ offspring, to force
miscarrying women to bleed out in hospital parking lots because doctors are too afraid to help them. That’s who Mike is.

Mike Carroll: AWOL
Mike is often nowhere to be found at City Council meetings!
Dubbed “Missing Mike” by many, Mike has the worst attendance record of any City
Councilmember. He frequently Zooms into City Council meetings with very little participation in
Council discussion, with one public commenter saying, “We don’t know if he’s in pajamas!”

Mike Carroll: Misuse of public funds
Mike Carroll continues to violate all decent ethics.
One of Mike’s biggest scandals while in office is his misappropriation of City mailers for campaign purposes. To the condemnation of both Republicans and Democrats, Mike violated city policy by misappropriating $70,000 in his council budget-- money meant for hiring staff-- on de-facto campaign mailers. He then voted to double his Council budget and remove restrictions on spending.

Mike voted in favor of replacing a needed school site in Los Olivos for housing, resulting in overcrowding at Oak Creek Elementary School
In March 2023, Carroll voted for an MOU that allowed Irvine Company to replace a much-needed school site with housing, causing overcrowding at Oak Creek Elementary and worsening traffic congestion during pick-up and drop-off times.

Mike Carroll: Anti-science fraud
Carroll led a baseless crusade against a cell tower in Turtle Rock, relying on claims disproven by science, and wasting city resources in the process. This tin-foil conspiracy theory will soon make cell service even worse for already-poor cell service for Turtle Rock residents.
Let’s reject the anti-science craziness that Mike represents in favor of responsible decision-
making.

Mike continues to lead a legacy of denying climate change
Mike made a campaign promise to reduce pollution and address greenhouse gas emissions. Every decision he has made reflects otherwise.

He refused to ban noisy and polluting gas-powered leaf blowers.

As Chair of the Orange County Power Authority, he appointed an extremely unqualified CEO and OCPA racked up $7 million in penalties for lack of transparency.

He was the sole vote against creating a city plan to address climate change. He continues to side with polluters in every way. Mike is bad for the environment
